Comfort Food - My Unhealthy Obsession & Some Little Tricks

Hi There!

I've been feeling a little bit down over the last few weeks, well if a little bit was measured on a scale of crap to catastrophically awful - it would be somewhere pretty close to awful.

There are literally hundreds of websites on the net that try and offer help and advice on how to feel better, but in all honesty if you keep reading the opinions of others, you will eventually lose your own. The best advice anyone ever gave me was "find what works for you". It's a simple concept isn't it - listen to your body and your mind, if it makes you feel better and your wellbeing improves, keep doing it.

Time to Relax - Plus my Top 10 chill out songs

Hi There!

My week has been ridiculously busy at work - same amount of work, but one less day to do it in! Which has inspired my blog this week.  In this busy life we sometimes forget to look after our own wellbeing, sometimes, just sometimes in this world of phones, tablets, internet and video games its just nice to sit back, relax and do nothing in particular. A time when we can rest our brains and just switch off for a while.

My Inspiration - Five Favourite... No, Wait Six Favourite Quotes

Hi There!

Today's blog is all about quotes which are emotive to me. I am happiest when I am reading or, more recently, when I am writing. I love how powerful words are, they can make you feel a whole range of emotions, sometimes touching you right to the heart.

Bajan Fish Cakes - Dumplings to die for

Hi There!

Thank you for stopping by

Today's blog was supposed to be all about homemade food, but what with my busy week I've hardly had chance to eat let alone make anything from scratch! This got me trawling back through my photo library to see if I had any pictures of food that I might be able to share with you.  I stumbled on a plate of Bajan Fish Cakes from back in November last year and so I thought I would share with you a bit of their history and also how to make them.

Hi There!

Thank you for stopping by!

How's your week been? I hope the weather has been just as good for you as it has been for me this week! I love the sunshine, it has the ability to make me find a positive in even the worst situation, which is always a winner.

Today I'm talking about another little win of mine, Lush Lip Scrubs - lip scrubs? I hear you ask, what is the point of those?

You Beauty Calendar Part Four - Some Eyelash Curlers, A Shampoo and A Fragrant Water

Hi There

Thank you for stopping by!

It's been a busy week for me, I've been writing lots of blog posts for you, so many in fact that I might need to do more than one a week!

This week my review is for another 3 products from the YouBeauty advent calendar.

Eyeko Eyelash Curlers

It's been a long time since I have invested in a pair of new eyelash curlers, so when I opened the door on the advent calendar to this, I was made up! Especially when I realised they retail at around £12.

Food Glorious Food! - Chicken Jambalaya a family favourite

Hi There!

How are you? This week I've decide to do a food post, I should've been doing another YouBeauty calendar review, however this week it was for a tanning product, which I can't stand using, a hand cream that I wasn't impressed with and a face cream that I'm allergic to, so I didn't feel it would be a good read if I wrote about them honestly!

You Beauty Calendar Part Three - A Candle, A Mascara and A Pre-Shampoo Treatment

Hi There!
Thank you for stopping by!

How's your week been? For me this week has been a strange one, Mr M and I have inherited a tortoise so we've been learning all about the upkeep of them - there is a lot to remember!

But that's a different story - onto the review now. This week its days 7, 8 & 9 from the You Beauty calendar.

You Beauty Calendar Part Two - A Body Lotion, A Nail Varnish and A Mask

Hi There!
Thank you for stopping by!

How nice has the weather been this weekend? A lovely spring day, gets me excited for Summer.

This week I have written a review from when I road tested days 4, 5 & 6 from the You Beauty calendar.

Caudalie Nourishing Body Lotion

First up is this body lotion. The official write up on this product from the Caudalie Paris website states that this product "immediately moisturizes your skin with a long-lasting effect so that it regains its softness and elasticity" I can vouch that it definitely moisturises straight away, the consistency is nice, not a thick cream and not a runny lotion, a perfect balance of the two.

You Beauty Calendar Part One - A Cleanser, A Primer and A Body Wash

Hi There!
Thank you for stopping by!

How are you? Are you happy that the dark Winter mornings have now almost left us? I've been super busy trying out lots of lovely things so this post is a little late, but I like to fully road test products before I review them! This review is about the You Beauty advent calendar, please carry on reading to hear why I chose it and what I thought about it.

Don't you feel that there is too much chocolate around during the festive period? Hmm - I must admit, I never thought I would hear myself saying this, however it was exactly how I was feeling last year, so I went on the search for an alternative to the standard chocolate advent calendar.

In the end I settled on the YouBeauty calendar, which I purchased from their website. At £49.95, it was slightly more than the 3 for a fiver chocolate advents calendars you can get in the supermarkets, however what you get in them more than makes up for the price tag. In fact the website claimed that I had just saved over £190 as the calendars contents were worth a staggering £240.
